Over the years you have collected T-Shirts from school activities, sports events, concerts or vacations. Perhaps you've saved your child's shirts from pre-school or Little League up to their high school years. You have a lot of money and memories invested in them. They're either in the closet, a chest of drawers or maybe even in a plastic bin in the attic. You can't bare to get rid of them but what do you do with them? The answer is pretty simple: Let me turn them into a quilt that will properly display them in a quilt that will last for generations. Your shirts are very special to you and I take making your quilt very seriously. Your quilt won't be just "another quilt" to me because I realize your quilt tells a story that is as important to me as it is to you. Besides that, think of all the free storage space you'll gain!
MEMORY QUILTS/MEMORY PILLOWS
I've also been asked to make a memory quilt from a loved one's clothing. Families tell me it brings them great comfort to have a quilt that may include dad's shirts, grandma's favorite dresses, etc. Seeing these fabric blocks brings back fond memories of their loved one. The memory quilts featured in the quilt gallery tab include one of a husband's shirts. Even though there was a combination of flannel, denim, and cotton shirts, I was able to incorporate all of them in the quilt. Memory pillows can be made for many reasons. Perhaps your relative had a favorite shirt that you just can't part with. Maybe you have a shirt from service in the military, a sports team that you played with or from scouting activities that is meaningful to you. It deserves more than to be hanging in the very back of your closet.
QUILTING SERVICES
Quilting services are also provided on my Janome Artistic Sit Down Quilting Machine. You will be charged a specific rate per square inch.
Quilters use the term UFO to refer to "unfinished objects" or projects that are not yet finished. We all have them - lots of them sometimes! Sadly there are times that a quilter can't finish their UFO's due to illness or death. Several times recently I've been asked to finish quilts that a family member started. I am more than happy to provide this service whether it involves completing a quilt top or quilting the top.
